vfxworld.kilu.de This is a better version of my Terminator Eye Effect. I used syntheyes 2008 Object tracking method to track the motion of my head. In After Effects I removed the features on my skin and composed all the VFX stuff as seen in the breakdown. 3ds Max was used to place objects. I had an idea of doing a form of machinima in 3D Studio Max using characters and props from various games. I’m not sure how much effort I am going to be putting into this. I may do some machinima in this style in the future with models from a few different games. I got the World of Warcraft Illidan model using wowmodelviewer, and did some photoshop editing on his texture map. I had to make the wings, pants cuffs and loin cloth black because of the low poly count it didn’t work with the shadows in Max. I did not add or subtract a single polygon or smooth the model in any way. I only added bones and skinned it. The music is from wow from Black Temple. The dialog audio is from the movie 300. It took an hour to render so I thought I might as well share it. I hope you enjoy it. If you want to learn how to do something like this then my main advice would be to learn to use a good 3D program. I used an old version of 3D Studio Max (4.2) and it is even hard to work with on my old PC. Maya or Softimage XSI might be better for character animation from what I have read.
